It's Been A While - Sorry Sunshine!

Oh my Goodness! The last time I wrote you weren't even crawling - now you're running! You just turned 18 months last week and you are talking, running, scribbling, and demanding as hell! You still insist on drinking your bottle twice a day or sometimes three times. Am I not feeding you enough already? Today you had oatmeal in the morning, yogurt, toast with jelly (strawberry) as a snack, lasagna and corn for dinner, peppermint candy, a lollipop, orange juice (shit maybe too much sugar, huh? I need to stop feeding you so much sugar). Well, most days you eat a lot more than this, not to mention more veggies and fruits.

There are so many things you do that make me laugh. You come up to me and say, "Bottle?" and before I can say anything you turn around and yell, "Otay!" and run to your little chair, the one you sit in to drink your bottle. You wait impatiently for your bottle and when I give it to you I ask you to say, "Gracias" and you say, "Ash ash" with a big smile on your face. I love it.

Sweat P. Mess

This was soooo funny, Paulina, you didn't want me to spoon-feed you. I guess you wanted to try it for yourself. Your dad had the crazy idea of just letting you go for it, so he got a towel, placed in on the living room floor and handed you the spoon and baby jar. Can you tell how he was enjoying it as much as you were? Look at his face!! But we have to give him credit for letting you make a mess of yourself, because if it's one thing dad hates... it's a mess (even a little bitty mess)!

Gummy Girl

Paulina, you are nine months and still no teeth! At first I was worried because so many babies your age have at least two, but the doctor reassured me that it is perfectly normal if you don't have any just yet. He said they will be coming out pretty soon because your gums are all red. I'm starting to enjoy you being a "late teeth bloomer"! Just look at that beautiful gummy smile!

Smile!

This was right after Paulina's bath - I think I'm just going to write this journal as if Paulina was reading it. So let's start over. This was right after YOUR bath one day. You looked so cute in that towel that was sooo much bigger than you still! It always amazes me how quickly you can go from a frown to a smile. You are so easy to make smile and people are always telling me that you look like a very happy baby. And of course, I always love to hear that and I hope I had something to do with your sunny disposition ;-)

What the Flip?!

I think I had it easy for the first eight months, because now that Paulina turns nine months tomorrow she's become a totally different baby! She's so fussy, she doesn't like to lie down anymore and screams bloody murder when I change her diaper - believe me if I could change it with her sitting up I would! I took her to the mall the other day and had to change her so I took her to the restroom at Dillards. When I got her on the changing table she refused to lie down, screamed to the top of her lungs. Sales associates took turns going in there to see if I was beating her or something, they all gave me dirty looks! Afterwards, I put her in her stroller and tried to calm her. She got tired after a while, but refused to lie down for a nap - she preferred to sleep hunched over! People were looking at me as if I were a crappy mom who didn't notice her baby was asleep sitting up! Anyway, I'm posting a pic of her in a good mood and clapping. She loves to clap.

White Sands Here We Come!

I couldn't believe Joseph had never been to White Sands! It's got to be one of the most gorgeous places on earth - in my opinion - and so close to home (only 1 1/2 hours away)! So I said, "Lets pack up the truck and go!" And so we went!

Paulina was playing with her wipes the other day - she was swinging that thing until it flew out of her hands, then she tried looking for it :-)
